aced with an ever-evolving marketplace, local entrepreneur and owner, Gayle Wilding believes she succeeds by making customer satisfaction her priority, everyday.

“Our customers are almost like our friends,” said Gayle of the service Heritage Draperies aims to extend to each person who enters the distinctive pink house at 358 Main St. N.

Founded in 1983, Heritage Draperies specializes in custom window and floor coverings as well as custom furniture design. The company has long been a family operation, with Wilding’s mother assisting early on, and her daughter, Kimberly, lending a hand today. Wilding’s son also does some occasional “running around” for the family-owned business.

Trained at Sheridan College’s School of Interior Design, Gayle believes part of her company’s success hinges on always staying on top of home decorating trends. That’s why she regularly attends trade shows to find out what new innovations might be popular with clients - especially those requiring the “royal” touch.
